Batman: The Dark Knight [review]

Batman: The Dark Knight was released in theaters today. Being a huge Batman fan myself I naturally had to see it. I caught a 6:05 showing (just missed the cheap showings -.-) with Shane, Frank, and Kayla. The movie was by far one of the greatest movies of this summer and any even semi-Batman or superhero fan owes it to themselves to see it-especially if you saw Batman Begins.

It's very difficult to go into a review about the movie without ruining it. The story's filled with twists that'll keep you guessing till the end. You can't be narrow-minded when you see the ending or else you won't really like it. The fact that Batman didn't throw the Joker into a vat of acid really bothers me though (it's just make-up he puts on to scare people). The Joker in the movie is a screwed up genius as he is in any other Batman series or movie.

Heath Ledger was a GREAT choice for the Joker. It is a true shame that he died. I never really saw any of his other movies but in Batman he was terrific. He certainly matched the Joker-necessary skills of Jack Nicholson.

The story will do one thing then just when you think you've got it figured out it does a third thing without even doing a second thing then later you realize that third thing was actually a fourth thing.

I hope those of you that see Batman: the Dark Knight will enjoy as I and the other movie-goers in the theater did. Goodnight and happy blogging.
