Soul Calibur IV

(Sorry for mad lateness. I decided to finish this cause it was more pretty much done anyway.)
As time goes on it is becoming increasingly difficult to find video games that don't suck-especially in the fighting genre of gaming. Soul Calibur IV for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3-is no acception. Being a huge fan of the Soul Calibur series-I was very eager to pick up my copy of Soul Calibur IV. I've had the reserve for quite some time now and it's held my highest expectations for a video game since Kingdom Hearts II. The difference being-Kingdom Hearts II both met and exceeded my expectations; Soul Calibur IV however-barely scratched the expectations I had for Soul Calibur II. I wish I could say the storyline is choppy. There's just one problem-there's no freaking storyline! Every character has the same story. Fight someone in a cage or on a raft, fight someonefight a bonus character, fight someone in a tower, fight Algol/Nightmare/Siegfried.

The character customization/creation is much more limited than in Soul Calibur III. The controls are as decent as ever with the exception that they take much too long to swing their weapons with the more powerful attacks, making the stronger more useful attacks very difficult to pull off.

As far as new characters go there's only Algol (mentioned above) and Hilde. Hilde, armed with a spear and short sword, is a very capable character and useful as well. Algol, the more interesting of the two, wields both Soul Edge and Soul Calibur.

The graphics impress very much. Soul Calibur very nicely manages both hair and skin-probably the two hardest qualities of a video game.
