Games, phones, and viruses-oh my!

UPDATE: I've posted another chapter to Key to the Key. Just goes to show you that if I buckle down and get to work I can pump out five pages in less than twenty minutes. Though to be honest the lack of time it seems to takes me to type up these chapters is rather distressing as to whether or not I'm doing a good job on them. Comment the chapters if you find any mistakes or don't understand something, I'll gladly answer all questions.

Well as some may know, Frank and I have been on a vicious hunt for the game "Warriors Orochi." Fans of Koei's games should already know about it and have either already played it or be eager to play it. I went into Gamestop tonight expecting to just browse, since the Gamestop at the mall has a SUCKY colleciton. But still, I took the risk, asked if they had "Warriors Orochi" and to my shock, the man turned to the computer, started typing, turned back to me and said "Should be on the shelf". I LEAPT over the $5-and under game stand and raped that wall. Sadly I never found it. Finally, after much searching, I asked if he was sure they had it and he told me I could buy it but with a blank case. Now, normally as a gamer I like to have the case and booklet, however, with the hunt this game had led me on, I could print the friggin cover out off the internet for all I cared. In the process I also decided upon buying another PS2 controller, something I've needed for quite sometime for my 2-player games. I bought a nifty-silver one which has not so much replaced the ol' classic black controller as found a place in my heart right next to it. I mean, it looks cool, but anybody who knows me knows how I feel about orginiality (I played all of Kingdom Hearts 1&2 with just the Kingdom Key for crying out loud).

Sadly enough, I knew what to expect from Warriors Orochi somehat. You've played one Koei game, you've played them all. Pick a charact, pick a battle, set guard and mount, choose your weapon, check the conditions, run out into the field and hack 'n slash 'till the main enemy finally decides to stick his neck out. Now, I'm fairly familiar with Japanese history and lore and even some of the language thanks to video games and anime, however I had no clue what Orochi was or meant. Appaerently Orochi is a demon from legend (also used in the hit Japanese game Okami). Anyway, I haven't given the game a fair test run to post an actual review, I'll wait until Frank comes over so we can play co-op.

(SPOILER WARNING!!!)
However, I've yet to inform you of all of another video game(s) I've purchased recently. The 5th Anniversary Box Set of the Devil May Cry series (1-3). For the longest time I've been telling myself to pick up Devil May Cry however I've never gotten around to it. Well when four came out I said "enough" and ordered the box-set online. Well, the first one was rather fun. Sucky graphics by todays standards however. Characer development was very VERY weak. And (SPOILER WARNING!!!) the fact that the entire game takes place in one castle and a bit of the underworld just makes it difficult to keep focused with the lack of scenery.

The game reminded me a lot of Dirge of Cerberus though much better. In fact, I recall reading a review for DoC in which someone called it similar to DMC. Well, I can't say I didn't have fun playing Devil May Cry (1) however I can't say it's a game I'd beat twice. Anyway, in my eagneress after beating Devil May Cry (1), I popped open Devil May Cry 2 and tossed the disc into the PS2 quickly-big mistake. I read on the back cover you can play as both Dante and Lucia, the new girl in the game. I realize that the page for the extra disc is just added for the extra disc, but I think that since it's the first disc you see when you open the case, it should be disc 1 and not disc 2.

After the first level I was like y'know, cool, new playable character, now how 'bout Dante?

Third level, y'know, getting to know the new character, but what about Dante?

Seventh level, ok, I get it, she throws knives and turns into a harpy or something, now what about Dante?

Tenth level, alright WHAT THE FUCK-WHERE'S DANTE?!

Finally I said "hold on" and realized my mistake. However, the game is repetitive in which you simply hack 'n shoot your way to victory so after playing the game as Lucia for long, one level as Dante was enough for me for the night.

When I beat disc 1 as Dante, I'll gladly pop in disc 2 and beat the game as Lucia, but until then, Dante's my main man. I just hope Devil May Cry 3 isn't as repetitive as 1&2 and I have HIGH hopes for Devil May Cry 4.

Also, my dad agreed to let me buy a 360-however-I have to assume that the money in my saving's is 0 and work my way up to what a 360 costs-no big deal, I can do it.

Now that I've bored you to tears I'll give you a quick summary of my day! =D

That back-to-school dread crept up on me as I climbed the stairs of the school this morning but it really wasn't all that bad.

After school I hung with Rosa for a bit then hung out with Shane. We made out way to the mall when we came upon a cell phone. It still worked, and it was a really nice phone. So we looked through the contacts for a "home" and found it. Called it up, told them about the phone. Appaerently it belonged to a man about to move into the house we found it in front of, we offered to drop the phone off in the mail box for them. When we got there howevere, the owner of the phone was shoveling the drive way. So the phone got returned safely (a let-down for me since it was Sprint and I need a new phone >.>).

Shane did wonders on my laptop which I fucked up a while ago. I downloaded a Nintendo 64 emulator called "Project 64" which seemed to be going fine-until I tried to use limewire to download the games. My laptop became home to more viruses than a children's hospital during flu-season. My laptop's being more of a p.o.s than usual to the point where typing this whole thing is become rather unbarebale and for some reason I have to pound the keys every thirty seconds cause they want to not work and for some other reason every 10 seconds this thing is being saved as a draft.

Well the rest of the night was filled with my usual emo thinking. I'll survive somehow in this craz, cruel world of ours. However, tonight was unusually depressing since a friend of mine tried to "help" me, though with no luck.

Okay, that's all I can reall type for now, I'm rather tired and hope to get more sleep tonight than last night.
